Sexuality Superheroes: Renelle E. Nelson

Meet this week’s Sexuality Superhero, Renelle E. Nelson! As an infidelity and intimacy recovery strategist, Renelle is dedicated to helping couples reconnect over betrayal and other related traumas. Schedule your consultation today, or check out Renelle’s online courses. But first, read her feature below.

How did you find yourself working in sexuality?

I found myself working in sexuality first when I was studying to be a licensed marriage and family therapist, and took a Sexuality class. It was so intriguing and I excelled in the class. My teacher pulled me to the side and invited me to look more in the field of Sexuality. She mentioned there were few women (African-American) in the field. It all made sense, when I was exploring my own sexuality I had so many questions but no one wanted to or had the education to assist me. So in all, I became who I am, and who the field needed.

What is the best part of the job?

The best part of my job is assisting women who felt they were broken and not normal; reconnecting their relationships with their bodies, claiming pleasure and self-love. I love assisting women who felt hopeless, find hope and love after betrayal also.

What is the most challenging part of the job?

The most challenging part of my job is assisting my clients with unlearning unhealthy, or toxic generational narratives that sculpted their beliefs. I would also say challenging societal norms that are negative, and given my client permission to challenge and not fit in any box.

What is your most important piece of advice that has the potential to revolutionize relationships?

Communication before cumming. Get on the same page and don’t assume anything in the relationship. More discussing and less fussing leads to more f#cking lol.

What do you do to decompress and take care of yourself given that you spend so much time helping and caring for others?

I really enjoy family time. I take time alone and enjoy nature. I moved to Arizona recently and I’m enjoying being out in nature more and of course, shopping.  My guilty pleasure is watching old 20s comedy’s. It’s funny, I find even in my down time I love educating myself on different sexual topics and learning more about how to as with healing after betrayal. My life. 🤣

What do you want people to know about your work?

I would love people to know that they deserve and arousing life in and out the bedroom. It’s hard to travel through love, sex and chaos in a relationship, but that doesn’t mean don’t do it. I would be honored to be their guide.

Where can we learn more about your work?

You can hear me on a variety of podcasts or read articles on me shining a light on betrayal, or sexual healing, or reconnection. This content can be found on my websites: Kaleidoscopeservicesllc.orgAffairaftercare.com & Renelleenelson.com.
